Jan 4 was a grand day for year 2009. This was my sister-in-law's wedding ceremony. We dress-up nicely to attend the dinner at Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society.
Here were few family photos taken at Studio.

Sep 08 Visit to Langkawi Island

Sep 5 (Friday), my family went to Langkawi island for a short trip. This was our first experience taking Fireflight local airline. We were scared during the flight landing on the way to Langkawi island as it was not smooth. But, we got an experience pilot on the way back to Penang.

Trade mark for Langkawi island - Eagle statute on the Jetty port, we should not miss it. We visited island's biggest mall -Fair mall which was newly built. We had Thai food lunch here and i bought liquor from the outlet.

Staying? We stayed at Langkasuka resort that was 10 minutes drive from the airport. It had a very big room contained 2 Queen size beds. There was a small Malay drum - "gong" located at the lobby of resort. The resort was located near to the beach. Yi Wei enjoyed play on the sand and searched seashell in the evening. He was too tired and slept after took bath. I stayed in the resort to accompany Yi Wei. Thean Siang and his mother went to the Malay restaurant near by airport's round-about. He ordered fried mee for me and this was cheap and tasted good.

On the second day, we visited Underwater World, Yi Wei told us to snap a photo for him in front of fountain.

We used MY card to buy the entrance ticket as fee was cheaper, RM28 per pax. Yi Wei was not yet age 3 so he got a free visit. He liked to watch penguin, seal shows, feed the fresh water fishes, marine corals and fishes, swan swimming etc. There was a free indoor cinema movie shown every hour. We received a 3D glass to watch the movie. We were disappointed as this was just a 15 minutes story about a life of fish lived in the sea. Yi Wei slept before the movie start so he missed the show.

In the afternoon, the sky was dark. After came out from Underwater World, we went to Port Harbour. Besides the port, there were few restaurants. We choose to have lunch at Chinese restaurant. I bought 2 packets of muffins from Petronas station's shop. Yi Wei finished 2mini muffins as i told him this was made by muffin man from his story book.:)

Rain slowly became heavy and we went back to hotel for a rest.

Early morning on the next day, the weather was good. Thean Siang drived us to Oriental Village which was a 15 minutes journey. Langkawi Cable Car station was located here and there was a theme shopping centre housed here.

The Base Station was located at the foot hill of the Manchincan mountain. We got 40% discount after shown the MY card to get an electronic pass card. This was a long queue as the cable car not function during raining time which it was on the past 2 days. Once got into cable car, we started snapshot or recorded movie from cellphone. We viewed the surrounding forest, the Telaga Tujuh(Seven Wells) waterfalls as well as the sea.

The journey from Base station to Middle Station covered 1700 meters in length and from Middle Station at an elevation of 650 meters above sea level. See! We took another cable car with 450 meters up to the Top Station.

Cool! The cold wind blow to our faces. The view from top hill was very clear. Now we were 710 meters above sea level. We had to climb up the staircase to reach the top. Unfortunately the next station was closed. This was a walking bridge from one hill to another and was under construction. We spend half an hour time to have 360 degree view. Then we took a cable car straight from Top to Base Station.

In Oriental Village, there was a mini animal farm. Tourists allowed to buy food and feed rabbits and deers. This was a lunch time and animals were hungry especially deer. They could smell the food you hold on the hands and they tried to go close to you. This scared Yi Wei. Thean Siang and mummy attracted deers to another area so Yi Wei had time and space to feed the rabbits.

This was fun and we loved to see how excited Yi Wei was. Mummy busy on record the movie so she could bring back the memory home. She was doing a great movie recording now compare to the previous day.

After taking lunch at the food court of the Oriental Village, we went to the park nearby. Yi Wei changed his plan not to sit on the Poney. This was the first time he looked at the real horse and this was not the same as what he thought. Daddy or mummy could be a soft fake horse to let him rid, this one was not simple.

Then we went to Black beach, Jetty Point, Kuah Town and almost round the Langkawi island. This was because Thean Siang fill in too much petrol at his rented Wira car and he would like to utilize it. After back to resort, we went to the beach again without wasting any time. We could see how happy Yi Wei was on the beach.

I am pleased he loved this trip so much, so do i. And, Yi Wei got his favourite Nike football on the last day we had dinner at Kuah town. He loves Nike.

Yi Wei wear mummy’s Belle dance’s scarf. He shake his body to listen the sounds “ling ling ling”. Now, he always follows mummy’s style, wearing shower cap and adult’s slipper.

1 year 9 months - Jul 07 Taiping Museum, Zoo & Bukit Merah

We joined Thean Siang's teamates to Indian restaurant to have dinner. It was hot weather and i prepared Yi Wei the mini fan. He is easy to sweat even in the air-conditional room.

Ah Kuang invited friends to his hometown at Taiping for a night stay. We stayed at his parent's 2nd house. This time, Yi Wei went to Taiping museum and Taiping Zoo on the first-day trip. It was raining at the afternoon and we miss the visit to Taiping lake. On the next day, we went to Bukit Merah for swimming. Yi Wei and i were very excited when we sit at the float to round the water park.

I requested to have an ice-cream cake for my birthday celebration. Then we went to Shu Ling Japanese restaurant at Pulau Tikus for dinner. Yi Wei learned to spoon feed himself. He was doing well.

Surprise? Yi Wei went to Genting again! Now is 1 year+ so he can experience and more involve in playing at Theme park. This time, he went swimming at the pool and the water is hot. We were there for half an hour only to avoid get cold. Before back home, we take the train at First World hotel indoor Theme park again and again.

Yi Wei always disturbs me when i use my laptop for works. I bought him a mini laptop so he can pay attention on learning alphabet and numbers.
Haha…see…Yi Wei having his meal at Sakae sushi, em…my favorite sushi food.

1 year 3 months - Taping Zoo

It was a year anniversary for GSC department setup at Dell Penang. Some gift given away to the staff and i brought back the green mask. Yi Wei afraid of this mask and asked Thean Siang to remove it.

At weekend, Thean Siang brought us to Taiping zoo. The main purpose is to introduce Yi Wei different animals in the zoo. This was the first time he visited the zoo and the weather was extremely hot. We also went to Taiping lake and the park near by so Yi Wei could play the "bubble-bubble" gift given by aunt Jacqueline for his Christmas present.

We visited Thean Siang's Indian friend during his house warming event. This was an important photo for me and rare as it was a family photo.

There was a pesta in Penang at the end of the year during the school holiday. I brought Yi Wei there to enjoy the outdoor Theme park. However the weather was not that good which it had a small rain after we went in for an hour. We left the place after that and it was not that fun compare to Genting Highland's theme park.

On Sunday morning, i suggested to bring Yi Wei to Toy museum Penang. It was located at Tanjung Tokong area and was a new place. We took a lot of photos and i choose Yi Wei's favourite's cartoon to share with everyone - Pikachu, Barney, Doraemon, Pooh Bear and Elmo.

Yi Wei liked to go swimming at "Co Co"'s apartment's swimming pool. If it was hot weather, Yi Wei would tell me that the sun was out - "Sun 出来了" . Then, i would bring him out from the pool. He could kick his legs to move forward. This was one of his favorite exercises.
At one of the dinner, we brought Yi Wei to McDonald, Greenland. He would finish his fried before he went to playground. That was amazing he had many poses to show us.

This was a fantastic and memorable month. Thean Siang and i brought Yi Wei back to my hometown Sibu, Sarawak by Airasia flight. It was the first time Yi Wei took aeroplane and meet grandparent. I invited relatives to my house to introduce Yi Wei to them and serve buffet dinner from Chinese restaurant. Yi Wei got alot of Angpao from relatives. Nga Lin aunt presented Yi Wei a "Chicken Little" soft doll and Nguong Bing uncle gave him puzzle.

One day after back from Sibu, Yi Wei's grandmother registered Yi Wei for a children's culture dress wearing competition at moon-cake festival organized by YungTing association. He won the first prize on that night and rewarded Ang Pao from the organization.

End of the Oct month, Yi Wei went to Genting Highland for the second time. He had more fun compared to the previous trip to Genting. I had yearly pass for Indoor and Outdoor Theme park games. So, he had chances to enjoy First-world's indoor games and outdoor activities routinely.

Back to Penang, i invited Penang's relatives and friend to my house for BBQ dinner to celebrate my son's first year old. He got plenty of presents as you could see from the photo.

After Yi Wei recovered from sick, i continued to bring him to Youth Park for exercise. He liked to see different colour of stones on the field. They looked like dinosaur's egg. He definitely would had a slide.

Uncle Soon Soon gave Yi Wei a motorbike. This motorbike was bought by Yi Wei's great grandfather to uncle Soon Soon in year 2001. It was still in good condition and battery was working fine.

Yi Wei was active and thus i put him in the container while busy cleaning and house-keeping. This was new too him and you can see he enjoyed playing inside.

This was a busy month. Yi Wei started to be more independent. He played musical toy presented by aunt Chai Ling during his full-moon time.

On my birthday, Thean Siang bought me a bouquet of rose. My colleagues decorated my cube with balloons and we had cheese cake and team lunch for celebration. Dinner time, i had another cake cut with my son.

Few days later, that was Thean Siang's birthday. This time, we had a BBQ dinner and invited relatives and friends to my house. I bought him an ice-cream cake.

Well, you can see... my son had fever. He had to use KoolFever on his head. He did not concern much about his addition plaster on his head at that time.

Aunt Mei Ling gave Yi Wei a baby chair. He would sit on the chair when he eat Nestum wheat. On one of the weekend, Thean Siang brought Yi Wei to Youth Park again. See...He

was happy to sit at the purple's dinosaur and swing.

Yi Wei started use the walker to move around at home. At one of the Sunday, Thean Siang brought us to Gurney's Fish & Co restaurant to have lunch. Yi Wei was thinking to eat his "CoCo"'s red cherry. Of course, she did not gave him at the end.

4 months - Feb 06

On the fourth month, this was second time Yi Wei cut his hair. According to traditional, round the biscuit on his neck on this day so he could taste them before parent did so. This was to avoid saliva continue drop from his mouth. Not sure how true it was but i would like to try for fun.

This was the first time i left Yi Wei to baby sitter for a week to follow Thean Siang to Singapore. Aunt Valerie presented him Elmo's musical toy and aunt Jacqueline presented him Mr. Bean's soft toy. Every alternate week, i bring Yi Wei to Youth park to breath the fresh air and sit at swing, seesaw and slide. He kept laugh when he was excited.

Thean Siang bought him air-pool from Tesco and he tried swim at home for the first time.

Yi Wei loved to see the bubble at his mini bathtub. He liked to play the balls as well at his play-house. I redempted this gift from my Southern Bank credit card. This month, he also received first year New Year Ang Pao from relatives.

Earlier of December 05, i was still in the maternity leaves. I decided to bring my son to Genting Highland to enjoy the cold weather and environment there. He was too small but i could feel his curious looking around. See! He could crawl this month.

Yi Wei was in full-moon. I brought him to a home hair-cut to have a new look. I prepared some dishes and invited relatives and friends to my house for a celebration at night. Everyone were happy as he was the first grandchild for my husband and my family.

Yi Wei was born in 19 Oct 2005 in Tanjung Hospital, Pulau Tikus Penang. I was very scare to deliver my first baby as i know it would be painful. I stayed in the hospital a day before delivery.

Well, without having any food, i could not went in to Labor room. Guest what i have for my brunch? Fruits, i had my sweet strawberry, New Zealand kiwi and oranges. I enjoyed them very much.
